What products should everyone have in their skin care routine?

Your skincare routine will vary slightly between morning and night.

Morning

Ideally, your basic routine should include:

  • A gentle wash to cleanse your face before applying the rest of your skincare regime
  • Toner to replenish minerals with a topical hydration and moisturization
  • An antioxidant serum to help repair and defend your skin against DNA damage (anti-aging)
  • Hydrating moisturizer to keep your skin’s elasticity

Night

  • The same gentle wash you used in your morning routine
  • Toner to replenish minerals with a topical hydration and moisturization
  • An antioxidant serum to help repair and defend your skin against DNA damage (anti-aging)
  • Eye cream to reduce puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hydrating moisturizer to keep your skin’s elasticity

Our products include Vitamin A, C, and E, which synergistically support your skin with intense nourishment.

Vitamin A helps to speed up healing, prevent breakouts and support the skin's immune system and it promotes natural moisturizing

Vitamin C is a science-backed, dermatologist-favorite ingredient that may help reduce early skin aging, prevent sun damage, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, dark spots, and acne.

Vitamin E moisturizes and nourishes your skin and is considered an anti-inflammatory agent which reduces UV-induced skin swelling

How often should you exfoliate?

A general rule of thumb is one or two times a week, depending on your skin’s sensitivity.

Do you need different products for morning and evening?

There are a couple tweaks in your nightly routine. You'll want to include the makeup remover for your eyes, while the gentle cleansing lotion will remove the makeup from the rest of your face. Your moisturizer should be thicker and more hydrating  at night as well. And once or twice a week, you should use a face mask, or exfoliate.

What’s the best age to start using anti-aging products or procedures?

Start in your early 20s before noticeable lines and aging appears. As you enter your 30s and 40s, your skincare products may change slightly to match your skin’s needs as you age, but your routine will be similar.

Can your skin get too acclimated to certain products, making them less effective?

In general, no, with one exception. Your skin can build up a tolerance to Retinol. Other than that, it’s best to stick to one set of skincare products, as mixing products can sometimes harm your skin.

Do you really need a separate eye cream?

Yes. The skin around your eyes is thinner and needs more support than other skin on your face.

denéva’s eye creams are rich in antioxidants and moisturizers to support the skin around your eyes
