Alcohol Denat is denatured alcohol used as a fast-evaporating solvent and carrier in lightweight formulas. It helps other ingredients dissolve evenly and lets a formula feel light rather than heavy on skin.

At higher concentrations it can feel drying, so denéva balances it with humectants and emollients elsewhere in the formula rather than using it on its own.
